Supporting Young People To Do Polar Research
For the public benefit, the advancement in life of young people in the United Kingdom aged between their 16th and 25th birthdays to grow and develop as individuals by providing grants to enable members of the Scout and Guide Movements (and, where funds allow, members of other youth organisations) to undertake developmental activities (including expeditions) in relation to the polar regions which focus on learning, research and the dissemination of their findings.
The Foundation was established as a legacy activity of the ReQuest2021 project in which a group of Scouts went to Antarctica to mark the centenary of Scout James Marr’s involvement in the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition.
We will be developing this website over time to administer the request fund and provide advice & support for young people undertaking polar research.
In the meantime you can support the work of the foundation by donating on our JustGiving page…
