Our New Cashless Collection Tin

When we are out and about promoting the ReQuest Foundation we now have a cashless collection tin to take donations. In this day and age when fewer people are carrying cash we feel this is a great way to make it easier for people to donate in person.

PROJECTS

Third Round of Applications For Youth Polar Projects

We have recently awarded £500 to Niamh Doherty, School of Geosciences, University of Aberdeen - her personal project considers how the mass balance of surge-type glaciers differ during active and quiescent phases, and what processes drive these changes. We have also given £100 to Sam Buisson - his project is aiming to use poetry to develop cultural appreciation and understanding of the vastness of the polar areas, the people that live in them, and the ever-changing climate and geography, linking the past and present of the Arctic. Sam is a member of the Kent Scouts ArcticQuest2026 polar research project. Young People aged 16-24 can apply for support and funding via our website. They just need an advocate from a school or organisation and a great idea for a polar project. The next deadline for applications is 31st July 2026.

CASE STUDY

Darcey's Antarctica Arts Project

Darcey Holmes’s personal polar project involved using the arts to explore people’s changing perceptions about Antarctica and how those changes are impacting this fragile environment and unique wildlife for the future. As well as documenting her voyage to Antarctica with watercolours she also encouraged others to participate in creating a collaborative quilt.
